is volume 2 of Charlie's account of his family farm of Little Ardo
of Methlick which sits on the northern slopes of the Ythan valley
and so looks across from the southern border of Buchan to the
fertile lands of Formartine. That is where his family have farmed
since 1837 and where he has lived since he was a five during the
war. It is a humorous and affectionate account of the farm but it
does follow the writer to University life in Aberdeen Dundee and
Glasgow and even to a spell as a white settler in Kenya as well as
touring the world as a professional athlete and blethering to the
world as a producer presenter with the BBC
