Sung by Charlie Allan. Ł6.oo pp free UK.

out of stock. Sorry, but most tracks are on the CD The Best of Charlie Allan

Twelve of the best known of the Aberdeenshire Bothy Ballads along with Charlie’s own song the Blue Grey Coo. The Bothy Ballads form a record of  rural life in Scotland’s North-east corner and the Blue Coo is about the invasion of the area by foreign breeds of cattle in the 1970s

The production by Marc and Karen Ellington brought a new diversity to the recording of bothy ballads in 1979. Kenny Slavin on fiddle, Graham Mitchell on box, and Karen and Eric Ellington provide a sympathetic backing on guitars.
